In this episode, I’m joined by a great friend and former colleague, Jeremy Walker. Jeremy and I worked together for three years as P.E., Health, and Outdoor Education teachers at Elwood College, sharing a passion for inspiring others and living active lives. Today, he’s still teaching, but now he’s based on King Island, where his love for surfing, fishing, and endurance running thrives.
While many know Jeremy as a former professional soccer player, having played for Melbourne Heart and several NPL clubs, today he’s tackling a different kind of challenge. Jeremy’s about to take on a massive endurance run around King Island, all to raise awareness and funds for myalgic encephalomyelitis, a cause that’s deeply personal to him.
In our conversation, Jeremy talks about what inspired this run and how his experiences on the 62km Takayna Trail have prepared him for what lies ahead. He also opens up about his connection to the cause, sharing why it’s important to him and how listeners can support his mission.
