About Coby Gipson:
Coby Gipson joined Lamar University in January 2020, initially as the recruiting coordinator and running backs coach. Entering his fifth season, Coby has played a pivotal role in developing one of the top young receiving corps in the Southland Conference. His coaching career also includes successful stints at East Texas Baptist University, Howard Payne, and Bishop T.K. Gorman, among others. Coby's dedication to his players and his innovative coaching strategies have earned him numerous accolades, including the 2022-2023 FCA Southeast Texas Coach of the Year.
