Description

What is toxic positivity, and how can it impact the way we grieve and mourn? The months from October to December bring a series of holidays—Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas—that often come with tremendous expectations for joy and celebration. If you include Valentine’s Day in February, the pressure can feel even more intense.

It's important to remember that experiencing joy isn’t always straightforward, and this pressure can sometimes lead to toxic positivity, where genuine feelings are pushed aside in favor of forced happiness.

Our guest, Ed Gash sheds light on the distinction between mourning and grief, drawing from his profound loss with the death of his son, and his application of his education about grief and loss. He has created a program to help navigate these difficult emotions, offering support to those who may feel overwhelmed during such emotionally charged times. It’s crucial to honor our feelings and recognize that it's okay not to feel joyful during moments when we are grieving.
