Episode five of Yeah, I got a fing job with a liberal arts Degree features a conversation between Jeff Crane, host of the show, professor and Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Cal Poly Humboldt and John Rhine, his former student.
John Rhine is an Information Specialist, producing content for the Communications Department of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He creates informational videos and inspirational stories that are uploaded to social media platforms and to inmate tablets. This is just part of what he does in his position. John also has a second job with a YouTube channel, Midwest Safety, where he obtains video footage from police departments and cuts together videos that have a training slant. And he has done all of this with a degree in history from Sam Houston State University.
This conversation really unpacks the value of studying history for many careers and the many places it can lead.
