In this episode, we explore the impact of social media on our health. I've worked with many clients struggling with social media addiction, and it often makes them feel terrible. Social media acts like one big advertisement, designed to make you feel inadequate and want to buy things to feel better. This 'grass is greener' mindset can really affect our mental health, making us feel jealous, sad, anxious, and even physically unwell.

Here are 3 tips to help improve your relationship with social media:

  1. Be conscious about what you consume:

    • Be aware of filters and body comparisons.
    • Follow positive influencers, like Megan Jayne Crabbe.
  2. Take a social media break:

    • Try a weekend free of social media.
    • Delete the apps and prepare alternatives for boredom.
    • Notice how you feel after the break and consider limiting your use.
  3. Deactivate for a while:

    • Ask a friend to change your password and take a breather from social media.

Remember, what we consume matters for our health. Let's make conscious choices and take control of our social media use.
