In Episode 31 of “Coaches at Crown Brew Getting Coffee,” presented by the Swinford Media Group and Adrenaline Fundraising, host Kerry Martin welcomes former NFL defensive end and Super Bowl champion Anthony Hargrove. Drafted 91st overall by the St. Louis Rams in 2004 after a stellar career at Georgia Tech, Anthony played nine seasons in the NFL with teams including the Rams, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and the New Orleans Saints. His career highlights include winning the Super Bowl with the Saints in 2010, earning NFC Player of the Week honors, and receiving the prestigious Ed Block Courage Award. Anthony reflects on his journey from the NFL to Southern Illinois, where he became an assistant coach under Kerry Martin at Marion High School before taking on coaching roles at Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton, including a stint as head coach. In 2022, he was named the defensive line coach at Limestone University in South Carolina. Today, he focuses on developing young athletes through speed and agility training while inspiring others through motivational speaking. Anthony also shares his pride in supporting his children’s athletic endeavors, with his son Tre playing Division 1 basketball at Florida Atlantic and his daughter Amiah at Nebraska.
