A Carterville native, Capie has achieved remarkable success, leading his team to become the 2024 State Champions with a stellar 201-57 record. He has claimed two state titles as a head coach and one as an assistant coach, along with six regional titles and five conference titles. His coaching accolades include four Sweet Sixteen appearances, two Elite Eights, and recognition as a three-time Coach of the Year (2016, 2022, 2024) and three-time Sectional Coach of the Year (2016, 2022, 2024). Capie has also coached numerous all-state players and players who have continued their athletic careers in college.
