In this introductory episode you will get to know a little bit more about the faces behind the Parentrepreneurs Club, Michelle Johnson and Laura Capindale.
The purpose of the podcast is to share hints and tips on how to juggle health, wealth and finances, and above all help you find your purpose, your identity and banish any confidence gremlins that you may have holding you back from the life that you’ve dreamed of.
Laura outlines that for her, it’s been a long process that she’s wanted to do for many years, but it took her a number of years to have the confidence and mindset to take the leap to be her own boss. She started a side hustle alongside a full-time paid role that gave her job security. For Laura , she wanted the flexibility and finance to take the leap into her own business.
Michelle had always wanted to be a consultant from her university days. In 2019 she lost her corporate job and this lead her to take the leap and set up her own business.
Covid-19 has been an opportunity for many to identify what it was they wanted to accelerate their decisions to set up their own businesses
Michelle shares her insight into the current economical climate and how it may be holding back some individuals into taking the leap. She feels being your own boss means that you control your own destiny. From her experience you have more control than working in a corporate world in the current economic backdrop.
Laura recognised that the corporate world was not giving her the flexibility she needed as a parent as she returned post-maternity, and this drove her into setting up her own business, and is what is driving the ethos behind the Parentrepreneurs Club.
