In this episode, we sit down with two iconic figures in MUHS tennis history: Mike Donovan and David Frank.
Mike Donovan dedicated nearly five decades to MUHS, teaching from 1966 to 2015. As head tennis coach, he led the program to an incredible 19 state titles in 20 years between 1981 and 2000 — a dynasty in every sense of the word.
David Frank, a 1999 MUHS graduate and current head coach, has continued that tradition of excellence. As a player, he claimed individual state titles and helped his team win four state championships. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, David returned to MUHS to coach. In his 19 seasons at the helm, his teams have claimed 13 state titles. (As for those other six seasons... come on, David!)
Tune in as these two coaching legends share stories from their time on the courts, the keys to building championship teams, and what it takes to leave a lasting legacy.
