In this episode, we highlight the remarkable career of James “Luigi” Schmitt, a proud 1965 MUHS graduate whose dedication to the school spans decades.
Luigi has worn just about every hat at MUHS—teacher, coach, administrator—and coached five different sports along the way. His influence has been felt in every corner of the Hilltopper community. One of his lasting contributions? Playing a key role in the creation of the MUHS Athletic Hall of Fame.
And now, the honor comes full circle: Luigi will be inducted into the Hall of Fame himself in June 2025.
