In Chapter 3, Jeremiah arrived at the Kennedy home and immdiately raced to the backyard to play a game of Tag with P.J. When P.J. decided to change the game to football, Jeremiah noticed a small tree in the middle of the yard. P.J. explained that he and the tree were "growing together". Jeremiah then asked P.J. if he could secretly plant his Mustard Seeds believing that one day a tree would grow for him too. He hoped his planting would be a sign that he belonged with the Kennedys.
