In this episode, Emily addresses the question, “How do you want to be remembered when you die?” It is an important question to ask if we want to leave a legacy for the generations to follow. Emily dives in and shares how we should all aspire to leave a God honoring legacy behind. She shares three important things to focus on when leaving your legacy in the now.
There has to be a vision
What do you want your life to look like? We all want beautiful and good lives, so how do you want to cultivate that?
By simply loving and living for Jesus, people will be able to see His light in you. Love the people around you. Serve everyone with a selfless heart.
Your vision needs to be rooted in Christ to leave a legacy that is focused on Him. Let the Lord empower you and take in everything He has given you.
🤍 Ephesians 3:16-17
🤍 Galatians 6:4
Evaluate what is feeding your heart, soul, and mind.
Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are they bringing you closer to Christ?
If you are letting ungodly people speak into you, it will affect your heart and future.
🤍 Colossians 2:6-7
Let Christ speak into your life. Nourish your heart, mind, and soul with His words and truth.
We have to pursue this relationship with Christ. We have to desire growth so we can live out our God given purpose.
If you are filling yourself with Christ, it will overflow from your heart into every area of life.
Intentionally prepare in the present.
What are you doing now? Where is your focus?
Keep an eternal view. We can’t dismiss the mission field in front of us, but eternity starts now. We must be aware of the kingdom of God that is at hand.
🤍 Colossians 3:23-25
We are living in God's goodness. That grace is a gift.
To have an eternal view, we must do everything for God and His glory. Let everything simply reflect Christ and your relationship with Him.
🤍 Galatians 6:7-10
This is countercultural, but it is so important. As we go through every season, choose to walk with the Lord. Leaving behind a beautiful legacy in the future comes from living an intentional life for Christ in the present.
