Dear St. Andrews Family,
What does it mean for us to beradical Christians today? Do we break our AC/DC records and get our Christian t-shirts out of the attic? Do we all downsize and go on a mission trip to the Amazon? Bonhoeffer said, “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”That’s a pretty tall order.
I wonder if the problem in Christianity isn’t that we are too demanding, but that we have so watered downChristianity that no one feels the weight of the call. Is it possible that it is now a weak, nominal, gutless religion and that this is the reason that local churches have virtually no impact on their culture? Certainly something tothink about. This Sunday, we looked at Hebrews 11:32-40 and the list of people for whom the world was not worthy. Take a look and give it some thought: what doesRadical look like for us today?
