Welcome to For the Love of Fiction!

A personal project with episode 22, dedicated to the genre of Cyberpunk! Marc and Gav chat about how the genre came about, its defining features and its most important novel, William Gibson's Neuromancer (1984)

As an aside they also review the 1995 film adaption of the short story that predates the novel, Johnny Mnemonic.

Then, the guys chat about the Cyberpunk manga classic, Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow (1989), the original anime film adaption from 1995 by Mamoru Oshi, and the 2017 Live action version by Rupert Saunders.

I just noticed that both of these film adaptions originally came out in 1995. Weird. One is definitely better than the other, and one had more input from the original author than the other!

Anyway thanks for listening and please follow and rate us!
