True joy found in Jesus surpasses disappointments, circumstances, and life itself. Paul wrote about that to his friends, the Philippians, while chained to a roman soldier. He encouraged them—and encourages us—to live with a divine perspective, allowing us to have have joy despite everything going on in our lives and in our world.
