In this episode, we discuss the impact of the microbiome on aging. Today's guest is Dr. Filipe Gomes Cabreiro, Professor at the University of Cologne-CECAD and Imperial College London. We talk about the importance of the microbiome and its involvement in many processes within our body. We cover changes in metabolism, DNA, and much more as we age, and explore the possibility of developing markers to compare our biological age to our chronological age. Dr. Cabreiro holds a PhD in Biochemistry and is a principal investigator at CECAD's research lab, where his research team focuses on understanding the mechanistic role played by microbes and nutrition in aging and healthspan.
