Tara Warren is one race away from becoming the first woman to complete the Rocky Mountain Slam since 2016.
That's a total of four 100mile races in the Rocky Mountains, across four months of the Summer, culminating with The Bear 100 in Utah at the end of September! (She also successfully completed the Bighorn 100, the Hardrock 100, and the Wasatch 100 as the first three events.)
Only 12 women have EVER completed the Rocky Mountain Slam before her.
In this episode, Lauren and Tara discuss the training, the fueling, and the story of each race. But perhaps more importantly, Tara's "why": The significance of that 2016 year, when her mom passed away from ALS, and the inspiration to take on this massive challenge.
Tara is using her platform and her love of running to do something bigger than herself, in raising money, awareness, and hope for the ALS Foundation. And for the month of September only, as Tara approaches the finish line of the slam, Hoka has promised to match ALL donations made on her behalf, up to $5000!
You can be part of that change by donating in any amount, and seeing it matched, at als.org/runwithtara
