Welcome back to the 43rd episode of the Thursday Meditations show!
This is the show that helps you overcome average, and step up above mediocrity.
Before we get to the show, here are a couple announcements:
May is all about time.
And today, I’m going to teach you some magic.
You have to promise not to share my magic secrets with others, but today, you and I are going to create more time magically.
Magical time travel is easy, if you know how to do it.
I’ve found seven simple ways to have more time.
As soon as you start tracking a specific task, you’ll find that they naturally get faster. It’s a natural response. You see the time and you’ll want to improve it. This works best with professional tasks. Obviously, if you try and measure how long you spend with a child or a spouse, that will not end up being a desirable action.
It’s amazing how much time appears when you say no to things that don’t move the needle, aren’t important, or are just distractions. This allows you to get the most important thing done, rather than some partially important things.
I don’t wake up all that early, but the hours between my waking up and everyone else's are very productive. You too can use that time to get more done, or just be more ready for the day.
With this, I mean the object that is the TV. So that includes, Netflix, Youtube, and plain cable. When you watch less TV you will have so much more time, you won’t be able to use it all productively. That’s good.
Do what you do best, and outsource the rest. I didn’t come up with that saying, but that’s how you can buy more time. Pay someone else to do things that need to be done, but that would be less productive for you to do them.
This goes hand in hand with number 2, but decide how much you can do. Say no to everything else. Limit what you focus on so that you actually get things done.
Just move faster. Be more urgent in your actions. You can get more done, and therefore magically have more time by working faster.
There you go, 7 magical strategies for having more time.
Not magic you say? Yeah, I know. I also know that you aren’t stupid and you didn’t think these were...
