Gertrude is making a fresh start with her laundry business with a new name, and has major news about one of her associates, formerly known as Donald Drakenstein, who has decided to “come clean.” In more big news, Farmer Sullivan is filling a temporary law enforcement gap, and Mrs. W, chairwoman of the Uptown Beautification Association District, has scheduled a meeting with him to discuss the town’s duck pond. Mrs. Pleckspeckle is miffed when her new hairdo is ruined by a fall in the snow, blaming the absent snowplow operator and Mrs. Wimberly. When the Sullivan kids call in, Gertrude offers to help them start their new business for a percentage of sales, of course.
