I hear alot of people complaining about the removal of historic statues, monuments and trademarks... Ask yourself this... what exactly does a monument represent? The definition of 'monument' is a statue, building, or other structure erected to COMMEMORATE a famous or notable person or event. Commemorate means to show respect and celebrate.. ☯️ So what are we celebrating? A dark history? Tradition is nothing more than a cycle that's only relevant as byproducts of the ones it's inspired. Are you inspired by Christopher Columbus? or Stonewall Jackson? or any of the other confederates taken down in the past month? 🧘🏽♂️ And for all the Redskins and Aunt Jemima outrage. If a corporation makes the conscious decision to change its brand, how does that affect you? Does an image and name representing a dark history really change the way your pancakes taste? If the Washington Redskins change their name, is it really gonna change the history of the franchise?
