This week we begin studying the book of 1 John, a book of encouragement to the early Christians to “stand firm” in their faith, and to not be swayed by the false teaching that was distorting the original apostolic theology. We see in our culture today Christians being influenced to accept a changed message that is more culturally considerate. The apostle John’s teaching is both encouragement and warning so that Christians will be careful to remain convinced of biblical truth.
