Ken broke his neck playing football for Cornell University in 1970, leaving him almost totally paralyzed from the shoulders down.
Ken completed his degree in engineering, and after earning two Master degrees, he became a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor. For over two years, he provided vocational and placement counseling to severely disabled individuals. Ken then enrolled in law school and worked as a Nassau County assistant district attorney, becoming a Deputy Bureau Chief.
