I had to come to a point in my life and this was when I really knew that I wanted to focus on just doing theater. I realized I'm going to have to learn how to be a producer. This is when I realize that I was still fixated on the 6° of separation character. I had come up with the idea that if I produced 6° of separation and I could get Will Smith to come on board as a producer somehow using the 6° of separation. I had been around him on a couple of occasions. I thought that I should learn how to produce this play, star in it, and get Will Smith’s attention have him come on as a producer and make it this huge thing because I'm sure that it's a very important play to him as well so that was the plan. I had realized in that moment, that was when I was still in Los Angeles getting typecast in my mind, and I realized in that moment if I'm ever going to break out of these kinds of characters I'm going to have to be the one to create the opportunities because sometimes people can't see you until you show them.
