The irony is that our brains are not wired to make us happy. Our brains are wired to keep us alive.  It’s the fight or flight mechanism that we learn about as kids that really maintains our human nature is to have this negative bias because it’s to keep us alive, but the thing is we’re not wandering through the jungle with saber tooth tigers or any of that sort of thing these days. Predators of course show up in other ways today, but for the most part we don’t have to fear for our lives with that negative bias like we did once upon a time, however, our brains really haven’t evolved so much where we are still hard wired that way. It’s really important to take a deep dive into all of this, into positive psychology and mindset and the growth mindset and it’s not a one and done sort of thing.
