Opening day for the NBA is upon us! We’ll do a quick preview of tonight’s games and I’ll let you know a little more about what you can expect from this podcast.
First of all Welcome to who won. The podcast for the busy NBA fan who can’t watch all the games but still wants to know who won without all the hot takes and click bait.
The NBA season begins tonight with two games on the docket. Both are national tv games on TNT.
At 7:30 eastern the Lakers will be in Denver for ring night. The nuggets took the Lakers out in the western conference finals last year in the most competitive sweep in history we’ve been told.
As of Recording this Vegas has the nuggets favored by 5 at home.
We’ll see if the Nuggets take care of business.
In the second tip of opening night at 10pm eastern it’s a battle of new look rosters.
Chris Paul will make his regular season debut against his former team the Phoenix Suns who have basically a whole new team around Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. After bringing in Bradley Beal and signing a million minimum guys they also traded Deandre Ayton to Portland. Although we may need to wait a bit longer to really see what it looks like as Bradley Beal may not play in the opener.
But we know who’s on the Warriors. They’re basically the same squad we’ve seen for what seems like an eternity at this point outside of one giant oddball with Chris Paul in a warriors jersey!
Will he bring competency in the non-Curry minutes this year? Or will he be a deadline trade piece? Only time will tell but we can be confident that question will linger past tonight’s debut.
Vegas basically has this one as a pick ‘Em with golden state favored by only 1 at home.
