How are you today? As for me, I’m super excited and happy because — November 19th marks the one-year anniversary of What Hua Says! 🎉
In this episode, I want to share my thoughts with you. It feels like I’m giving an award acceptance speech 😂, but I truly have a lot of gratitude to express.
First, I want to thank myself for having the courage to take the first step and start this podcast. Honestly, the idea came to me around March of last year, but I hesitated for a few months. Once I finally made the decision, I spent several months figuring out how to present my story. For someone like me, who’s not tech-savvy, exploring recording apps and learning how to upload episodes to multiple platforms was a real challenge, and I made a lot of mistakes along the way.
On top of that, writing has never been my strength. Every time I wrote a script, I’d hit roadblocks. These experiences made me realize just how tough it is to be a creator! Then, in June this year, the recording app I was using underwent changes and was no longer usable. I was caught off guard and had to start researching new tools all over again. At that moment, I was on the verge of breaking down, thinking, “Oh no, here we go again! This looks so hard!” That’s why you may have noticed some delays in my updates around that time 😅.
Despite all the challenges, this year of effort has brought me countless little moments of accomplishment. Every time I upload a new episode, it feels like completing an assignment, and it fills me with joy. Plus, it’s your support and listening ears that keep me motivated. Thank you to every single one of you who takes the time to tune in to my podcast 💖.
Some of you have sent me the sweetest messages, sharing your thoughts. A few people mentioned that my voice is so soothing it helps them fall asleep😂, and they’d apologize for dozing off before finishing an episode. But they’d always come back later to tell me their impressions after finishing the whole thing! Others have shared their personal struggles, taken my advice, and returned to tell me about the decisions they made and how things turned out, even thanking me for helping. But I always say, “No need to thank me — it’s fate that my suggestions happened to resonate with you. Plus, you’re the one who put them into action!”
Of course, I’ve also received some negative feedback. One person criticized me, saying, “Isn’t this just you talking to yourself? How can you even post something like this?” My response? “Yep, you’re absolutely right! Since I’m the only adult at home, who else am I supposed to talk to if not myself?” 😂 That person probably thought I was crazy and disappeared after that 🤣.
Whether it’s praise or criticism, I’m deeply grateful for all the feedback because it helps me grow and fuels my passion to keep creating. Some listeners have suggested that I write a book, blog, or make short videos to share more snippets of my life. I’m gradually exploring all of these ideas — except for writing a book. Honestly, my writing skills aren’t great, so that’s on the back burner for now 😅.
Moving forward, I’ll continue working hard to create more engaging content. I hope you’ll keep supporting me and sharing this podcast with those who might benefit from it. If there’s a topic you’d like to hear or suggestions you’d like to share, feel free to message me! I’ll make sure to jot them down and work on them.
Finally, happy one-year anniversary to What Hua Says! 🥂 I’m off to have a celebratory drink now — and if you’ve listened this far, please join me for a toast! 😘
