We are all deeply aware of the atrocities going on in Ukraine in 2022. As we focus heavily on gas prices around the world, food shortages and the stock markets, there is a human cost to war that we tend to lose sight of after being bombarded by the images for so long. We become numb. It’s not that we don’t want to see, or we don’t want to empathise, but there is sometimes a limit to how far our emotions will continue to attack and hurl feelings at us before we protect ourselves. It’s human nature. For many today, Ukraine may be the only war going on in their memory, but back when I was a teenager, from April 6 1992 until December 14 1995, another war dominated the headlines. An armed conflict took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, The Bosnian War.
