Joined the Navy in 2003 as a Naval Aircrewman [Operator]. Had tours in NAS Jacksonville, FL and Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe, HI from 2004-2007. Had small break in service to go back home to Atlanta, GA to go to college. Decided to join the weekend warrior club (Navy Reserves in 2008) and later made a terrible decision to become a Navy Recruiter in 2009 with NRD Atlanta and was stationed in Panama City, FL. That is when I made an even more terrible idea and be-friended at the time NC1 Albert Hero. Naw, Al is great! I did some good things while there, did a little bit of every thing. And then I converted over to being a Career Recruiter for the reminder of my time in the Navy [WTF was I thinking…right]. Been stationed at NRD Michigan, NRD San Francisco, Millington, TN (Detailer…total eye opener to a lot of how this circus operates) and now stationed in Dallas/Ft Worth for the twilight tour. Born and Bred Georgia boy (Everything Georgia, Bulldogs, Braves, Hawks, Falcons and OutKast). Married & a Father of 3, with 2 daughters (Chloe & Madison) and 1 savage ass son (Walker). Currently working towards a career in the real estate/mortgage broker realm. I’m a lawn guy, and my yard shits on most golf courses. 2 years completely sober, I miss it but I don’t. The Navy has been a blessing and a curse in sense. It has (Navy) helped me to become who I am today, which at times can be a blessing and the curse. I have a passion to help Sailors and People become better than what they believe they are capable of. Hugh Suicide prevention advocacy. “22 a day” is tragically a real thing that doesn’t get enough attention. Proud of my service and time, but ready for the change that comes with retirement. Looking forward to the next chapter after the Navy.
