Within three months, Megan Miller became a widow, single mother, and grieving sibling. Her first husband, Paul Stahl, died as a result of hantavirus in October 2007. She faced days and months wondering if the all-consuming sadness and pain would ever dissipate … would she ever feel truly happy again? In time, she discovered ways of healing and moving forward, as well as a passion for offering others hope in dark times. She was prompted to earn a degree in marriage and family therapy from Sioux Falls Seminary in May 2012. Her work as a licensed therapist allowed her to walk with others through their own storms. Through the combination of her personal and professional experiences, Miller uncovered a deep understanding of and appreciation for the power of personal stories, especially as a tool for healing. From this passion of sharing story and the awareness of the growth that can happen when we hit rock bottom, Miller was encouraged to celebrate other people's beautiful stories and wisdom in the Lighthouse Collection book. The Lighthouse Collections book offers a powerful perspective into God’s presence in overwhelming circumstances such as facing a health crisis, struggles with addiction, abuse, perfectionism, death, chronic pain, infidelity, divorce, mental health, loss, and other transformational moments. Miller's prayer is this collection of diverse stories and devotionals will empower people to recognize their own perseverance and the ways God can carry them when their will and strength is depleted. This book is a reminder God is a big enough to hear our pain and frustrations and love us through them.
