You may have heard the old adage: "Show me a god, I'll show you a people." The opposite is also true: Show me a people, I'll tell you who (or what) their god is.
This is the first in a seven-part study of the Story of Scripture. Our aim is that hearing the one, big, beautiful, true story that God is telling us through Scripture will help us appreciate our place in it. And, perhaps doing so will help us put off some of the untrue stories we've internalized over the years.
In this message we're introduced to God as Trinity. His three-and-one-ness seems to be God's defining attribute because it seems to take all the others into it. For that reason we spent some time reflecting on the passages that reveal the Trinity. God as Trinity is why we can't worship our own individualism, or make unfair stereotypes about others. Our neighbours will feel seen, known, and loved because that's who our God has always been.
