There are all sorts of counterfeit forms of "love" in the culture that make it hard to appreciate what it means when God says, in the Scripture, that He *IS* love. Like, love is what God is.
So, what does that mean?
In this second message in 1 John, we learn that there are some people and things that we don't love as much as we think we do. The ultimate expression of God's love is Jesus, dying on a cross. That's what love looks like. That's the sort of love with which we're told to "love your neighbour" and doing so is a test of whether we're really part of God's family. Do you pass the test?
