Phocabulary: Overexposure The result of recording too much light when taking a picture, which results in a light image. In digital imaging, overexposure can usually be corrected to a certain extent by the use of image-editing software, depending upon how overexposed your image is. RAW files offer more latitude than JPEGs and TIFFs for correcting overexposure.
