Alright people, we took off from the main podcast this week, but Talkin' Thrones is going strong all the way to the finish line, as we're on the last stop before the dreaded Red Wedding with Season 3, Episode 8, entitled Second Sons! The wrap up of this very deliberately plotted season has begun, as we check in on a lot of the secondary storylines that have been going on this season. We spend the bulk of this storyline in 3 different locations: Yunkai, Dragonstone & King's Landing. In King's Landing, it's wedding season, with Tyrion & Sansa's not-at-all anticipated nuptials upon them, and everyone is doing everything to make the process as miserable as possible along the way for them. On Dragonstone, Melisandre arrives and presents Gendry to Stannis, who gives her the ok to proceed with her plan, but he also frees Davos, who demands an explanation for why he is going through with this drastic deed. In Yunkai, Daenerys continues with her planned invasion of the second slave city by meeting with one of the mercenerary troupes that Yunkai employs, the Second Sons, and catches the eye of one of their leaders, Daario Naharis. We also check in briefly with Arya, who is now traveling with the Hound towards the Twins, as he wants to collect the bounty on her. We also end the episode with a HUGELY important sequence, with Sam & Gilly coming under attack by a White Walker, with Sam successfully killing it with a dragonglass blade.
