Jason Lee Whitlock is an American sports journalist. He co-hosts the daily sports TV show Speak For Yourself . Whitlock played Division I college football at Ball State as an offensive lineman.
Here is the statement that really got my goat, It’s hard to be a leader of Big Men, when you are not.
Really… Really
"No one ever considered heightism. It's the most basic prejudice in man, but it's the least talked about," says 5-foot-four-inch Joe Mangano, a salesman for a trademark research company in New York City
Says Malcom Gladwell in his book "Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking," a New York Times bestseller, "There's plenty of evidence to suggest that height -- particularly in men -- does trigger a certain set of very positive, unconscious associations."
Tall Men and Money
For "Blink," Gladwell polled about half of the Fortune 500 companies and found that the majority of their CEOs were tall, white men, and:
· The average CEO was just under 6 feet (the average American man is 5'9")
· Among the CEOs, 58 percent were 6 feet or over
· In the United States, 14.5 percent of men are 6 feet or over
· Some 30 percent of the CEOs were 6'2" or taller
· Only 3.9 percent of U.S. men are 6'2" or taller
Now this has always struck a never in me, to claim due to my height that I am less of a person than someone taller. This was only fuel for me to be better than everyone in everything I did. Should I run my I’m the Shiza list. Nope not necessary. Just know my work ethic is derived from that Stereo type.
All of this stemming from a quarter Tyler Murry who is shorter than the average Quarterback. I will admit he is disadvantaged and may not have longevity due to his ability to throw over taller linemen. But lets not detract from the fact that he is a Heisman winner, Oklahoma's seventh Heisman — and second consecutive — thanks to a remarkable season in which he accumulated 4,946 yards of total offense and 51 touchdowns while leading the Sooners to the College Football Playoff.
So yes being 5-10 at QB is a challenge but not impossible, ask Doug Flutie.
But you will say Hey Bryan You weren’t in the NFL so you don’t know the league
Well Neither was Jason Whitlock, Stephen A Smith or Will Cain. Yet they are highly favored and Highly opinionated Sports Analyst.
But of course I’m just a Youtuber scraping for views.
I will say this I have more Trophies, Medals, Plaques and recognition than those obnoxious verbally aggressive blow hards. And I’m short, My Middle name is David and you know what he did.
Respect the skill regardless of the height, being tall doesn’t make you better, it just makes you a bigger target.
As Petty as this may be I won’t go down that Worm hole of true Heightism as discrimination
