In this second of three interviews with Marketing Professors, we speak with Dr. Delonia Cooley from Texas Southern University, an HBCU located in Houston. Delonia has first-hand knowledge of the benefits for students attending an HBCU - smaller class sizes, direct access with professors and personal attention. It was instructive to hear the comments from one of Delonia's students regarding setting high standards and expectations. And her focus in pushing students to develop networking, communication and selling skills, is so accurate in helping them land their first job upon graduation and also in building their careers.
