Pauline Sylvain-Lewis of Phalanx Family Services and Amina Brooks from Far South Chicago Coalition talk about their organizations, successes and challenges, the needs and concerns of their communities, and how to affect change.
Phalanx Family Services is an agency that specializes in workforce development and mentorship in the community. During the pandemic, the company expanded into involvement with CDPH, youth services, and additional community engagement, especially as part of the My Chi My Future group.
Far South Chicago Coalition rose from the vision of Dr. Joyce Chapman and other community members to specialize in community engagement, economic and workforce development, furthering education, and establishing a Quality of Life Plan.
