Saleshea Peterson runs a nonprofit organization, Hug A Child, which focuses on victim services for survivors of gun and domestic violence in Chicago. Peterson and Hug A Child are part of the Gun Violence Survivors Leadership Network, an advisory group of community leaders who are survivors of and have been impacted by violence.
