Saghar shares scent memories from her homeland Iran, as well as those of her adopted home of Italy. She tells the eggplant story which details the many parallels that link Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food cultures. Saghar explains how food expresses culture, history, and economy through the examples of rice and olive oil. She reveals the meaning of her expression "the lantern and the mirror" which made her more curious about food and allowed her to then more deeply appreciate the food she grew up with. They discuss how food lets you connect with your homeland, while also allowing you to learn about new cultures never visited.
