Description

#37: In this episode, Frauke sits down with aromatherapy pioneer and author Robert Tisserand to reflect on 50 years of Aromatherapy. Robert takes us through his life's journey growing up in London, incl. his studies and original career ambitions (you might be surprised!). He shares what got him interested in essential oils, how he ended up writing that now famous book The Art of Aromatherapy, and reveals what Aromatherapy was like in the UK back in the 1970’s (spoiler alert: it’s nothing like it is today). Robert and Frauke also have an honest discussion about what Aromatherapy is today, what’s changed over the years, and what people get really wrong about the field. They discuss the controversial topic of naturals vs. synthetics, debate the quality of essential oils nowadays, as well as share how they create a fragrance.  Robert also shares what he feels is the most interesting research being done on essential oils today. This is a candid and heartwarming conversation that you don't want to miss.
