MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT PODCAST

“IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENT”

Episode 1: The Potter Will Make You Over

SCRIPTURE TEXT: JEREMAIH 18:2-6

Description:  This lesson is design to inspire you to allow the Potter to make you over.  In everyday life we experience marring, scarring, bruising, and brokenness that can leave a negative impression on our life.  The Lord God is our Maker; He is the Potter.  We will forever remain in His hands as clay to be molded into a vessel that can be used as He see fit.  This is a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT!

Thank you for joining me for today’s episode of the MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT.  I want to share the Word of God with you for a moment from Jeremiah 18:2-6.

Jeremiah 18:2-6 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words (3) Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. (4) And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. (5) Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying. (6) O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? Saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

The potter is the maker of the vessel, and as this potter makes this vessel, he has already decided in his mind what this vessel will be like. The size of the vessel, what the vessel may be able to hold, what color he wants the vessel, and even what he would use the vessel for. Well, Christ is our Potter, and we are the Clay. He is turning us into the vessel that he so desires. The vessel that he wants you to be used as. The vessel that will bring Glory to him. The beauty of this vessel will honor him as the maker and creator. We are the pot. We are the vessel. Christ has called us to serve in his kingdom, to serve in the capacity that he is speaking to us. If you notice life has a way of spinning things out of control, our emotions get involved. Our previous and past encounters have led to other situations. Still, each day with the Potter is a brand-new day. Whenever the Potter is making the vessel he sees any impurities and flaws and makes it over again. Are there some things in your life that God needs to make over again? Maybe there are some feelings and things that you are dealing with that need God to make over. So, I say to you today, take a moment, reflect on your life, and allow the Potter to have his way. Tune in to the divine hearing of the Lord and hear His word so that you can be the vessel in the hand of the Potter. Not my will, but thou will be done. OH Lord.   This is Mary Whitby with a Mary L Whitby Teaching Moment.

Join us on the next episode, next Sunday. Remember ,It only takes a Moment to study God's word :)
