What role should intuition play in DIQ? Let’s take something nebulous and mysterious and peek under the hood. Dr Jay McNaught defines intuition as “rapid decision-making done without conscious deliberation that results in affectively-charged judgement” - a feeling-charged decision. He explains that sometimes intuition is based on our subconscious recall of patterns. Sometimes it’s a result of dual processors at work in the brain, one of which Malcolm Gladwell called “black box thinking", because it takes place behind the curtain of consciousness. Chaya explains that coaches can ask effective questions to help clients understand where their intuition is coming from. And while it may not be a black and white case of trusting or not trusting your gut - intuition is definitely one data point that should go into DIQ.
