welcome back to the mystery comedy Old Time radio podcast. please welcome to the show this afternoon to chill our spines and put us in dramatic pause two iconic actresses of the 20th century and the beginning stages of Hollywood Miss Joan Crawford and Miss Betty Davis in the feud. these two iconic actresses or best known for portraying in many movies such as lady in the night Jezebel sudden fear All about Eve and many others. but what a lot of people may not know is that these two iconic actresses brought the best out of each other into movies the first one in the 1962 film whatever happened to baby Jane and the 1964 film hush hush sweet Charlotte. but what people may not know that these two iconic actresses had a real life feud with each other the reason why it started was because Joan Crawford had slept with one of Betty Davis\'s long time Hollywood crushes and Betty Davis would stop at nothing to to make Joan Crawford\'s career slip through the cracks. but also guys just to let you know that two iconic actresses of our time Miss Jessica Lange and Miss Susan sarandon played Joan Crawford and Betty Davis in the 2017 FX TV series the feud and if you haven\'t seen that I would highly recommend going and seeing that first season. the next season will be coming out next year in October of 2022. but these two iconic actresses have won several awards in many nominations. but also these two iconic actresses appeared behind the microphone in such starring roles in lux radio theater suspense on screen and many others. but these two ladies bring their old time radio performances to the show today. in this first episode starring Joan Crawford she plays a woman who has married a man who is 19 years younger than she is but to her age has no difference. but her husband ends up leaving her for another woman that he\'s had an affair with and breaks their marriage up. so she goes through the house and breaks every single thing that they bought over the years of marriage and has three words that she repeats in her mind and out loud until her revenge is satisfied. it is called three lethal words. and then next episode Miss Joan Crawford plays a woman who has been living a doll\'s life throughout her childhood and in her marriage life so to keep her life intact she has to try her best to avoid ruining her husband\'s reputation in the banking industry and the title of that episode is called a doll\'s house which appeared on Lux radio theater. enemies next to episodes starring Miss Betty Davis in this first one she plays a set of twins who have gone on a trip together to purchase a boat but one of the twins falls in love and then one day tragedy strikes as one of the twins ends up dying in an accident. so the other sister blames herself and is devastated by her sister dying. but the man that one of the twins had fallen in love with ends up falling for the other twin to make her feel better and to let her know that accident was not her fault. and it is called a life stolen and it appeared on the luxe radio theater program. and in this next episode Miss Betty Davis plays a woman who has lost her family and only has friends that she goes out to eat with and they always eat at One restaurant together. but two times she tries the restaurant by herself after working a long night at her job. the first night she feels uncomfortable and leaves part of her meal. and the next time she comes back The Young cook and owner named Harry has put something in her food and ends up kidnapping her. and it is called good night Mrs Russell and it appeared on the old time radio show suspense.
