Is it possible to live and work with your spouse who is also your boss AND you both host a morning radio show together? Well, Rochelle Gagnon makes it seem VERY possible. Rochelle married her morning show co-host, Robby Bridges, who proposed without a ring at the spur of the moment while in New York City; and yes, they discussed it as a topic on their morning radio show on 107.1 The Boss.
She actually doesn't mind talking about personal topics with her husband on the air, even when they are having a disagreement because "we can't go past that line," she told me during our interview. Rochelle and I met when she interviewed to be an intern for Mojo in the Morning on Channel 955 / iHeartRadio in Detroit where I was the Executive Producer. I knew right away she was smart, logical and had talent. What started as a fun experience for Rochelle, turned into a dream career which she gets to share with her husband by her side.
At the end of this interview, I ask Rochelle about her why. Why did she want to go into radio anyway? Her answer SHOCKED me and made me very emotional.
