Peanut Butter and Jelly, Bert and Ernie, Cults and Conspiracies– some things in this world are just natural pairings. We’ve talked about both cults and conspiracies on this show many times, but we haven’t ever really given them their day in the spotlight. Well, today is that day.
And yes, cults and conspiracies could each be their own shows, if not podcasts entirely– so consider this your brief tasting flight for these strange phenomena of the human condition. In their most basic form, neither cults or conspiracies are inherently frightening.
Heck, sometimes they can be so ridiculous that they’re hilarious. Jewish Space Lasers, anyone? The trouble is that beneath the, “Sure Mulder, whatever you say..” jokes and tin foil hats, lies something more sinister. They’re like that halloween candy bar with a razor blade hidden inside.
