The Northeast is full of bizarre fall traditions. Paying to
perform manual labor (apple picking), letting a football team dictate our mood for the next 4 months, driving around looking at trees (OK, outsiders come to do this one), and The Big E. The Big E is New England's fall fair, essentially the state fair for all six New England states. It's a mystical land of overpriced fried and/or weird food, overpriced carnival games and rides, animal shows (and the accompanying strong scent of manure), and As Seen On TV sales demonstrations. Eileen and Meghan love it. Chris? Not so much.
Maybe if it was a bit more ... magical?
