Description

I recently had the privilege of attending the Amend Movement Men’s workshop in Melbourne facilitated by Wa. I immediately noticed his intense positive energy, underpinning a very humble, quietly spoken gentleman. It was clear that Wa had embodied actual king energy.

I was also keen to meet Wa as he was my wife’s coach during her initial journey at Bridge and Extreme and was one of the first people who saw her and allowed her to see herself. For this, I will be forever thankful.

Wa is a devoted father to four beautiful children from the Gold Coast of Australia.

He grew up in Napier, New Zealand, in what most would define as a 'violent and dysfunctional' home and neighbourhood. He has faced many obstacles in his life, from having a child at 15 years old who was born with cancer, being diagnosed with cancer himself, and his 11-year-old daughter being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

We have 12 years of experience in the mental health sector and, more recently, have been practising social workers at a behavioural school for the past eight years. He has also worked within and closely with the department of child safety for the past 13 years.

He has a deep passion for helping human beings improve through his life experience and training and is the co-founder of the Amend Movement.

When I approached Wa at the workshop to be a guest on the Podcast, his response was, “I don’t do Podcasts and that sort of thing; however, for you, my brother, I’d love to”. I still get emotional today thinking about that.

In this week's episode, Wa discussed what it was like growing up in a dysfunctional and violent family and how that played out in his younger years. We also discussed how he shifted from physical intimidation to psychological intimidation, how he showed up as a father figure, and how he impacted his relationships with his partners and children.

We were very open about his ongoing awareness of how his childhood conditioning continues to rise; however, rather than shy away from it, he now embraces it with curiosity and love. This has allowed him to acknowledge his hurt inner child and make peace. In addition, we also touch on manifestation and how to live with a truly abundant mindset. I also received some free coaching which was gratefully welcomed.
