Born and bred under abject poverty and the Jim Crow laws of the American South to a single mother in Hitchcock, Texas, Jimmie James rose above the cultural inequalities to a 30+ year career with ExxonMobil as an engineer. In his mid 40’s, James took up golf. Upon retirement, he made a goal to play Golf Digest’s “Top 100” courses in one calendar year. This episode highlights an incredible journey of a person that rose above societal constraints to achieve a dream of a lifetime.
