Description

In this conversation, Chloe Pedalino and Cindy Edington discuss limiting beliefs and how they can impact our lives. They explore the origins of these beliefs, including messages from parents, society, and institutions. Limiting beliefs are patterns of thinking that restrict individuals from taking steps forward and realizing their full potential. They are often based in fear and can be adaptive in childhood but become restrictive in adulthood. Fear is the main emotion that holds us back and blocks our progress. Childhood experiences
and societal expectations can contribute to limiting beliefs, such as playing small or feeling the need to fit in. It is important to recognize that these beliefs are systemic and not personal failures so that we can objectively look at them and address them.  They emphasize the importance of awareness and self-reflection in identifying and challenging these beliefs. They also discuss the role of perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and the need for self-compassion in the process of overcoming limiting beliefs. The key is to learn to love and accept ourselves fully, embracing all aspects of our multi-dimensional selves. Cindy and Chloe share practical tools to manage limiting beliefs.
