The Mississippi River was a crucial asset to the Union and Confederacy in the Civil War. Control of it was essential for victory. Joining us to discuss it's significance is Neil P. Chatelain. Neil is an author of two books about the Civil War and several articles including, "Annual Freshet Impacts on 1862's Mississippi River Campaign."
