Exams, exams, exams. We are tested at every stage in our academic careers from the age of 8, but what does that achieve? Is the UK education system catering to allowing students blossom as an individuals or training them to mindlessly memorise and regurgitate information to pass exams?
Growing up in the UK education system from primary school to university has provided us with the first hand experience to judge and discuss the direction of how it is developing and also needs to develop. We outline the key systematic problems inherent with the education system and how we believe it needs to adapt, and adapt quickly. The journey of acquiring knowledge and gaining an education should be one not only that is focused on the syllabus but yet one that also allows students to flourish creatively, encourages innovation and provides the resources and environment to positively aid character development. It's an issue we are both passionate about and needs to be discussed.
